My vote is that it is an experience. An object in and of itself cannot be art until it is experienced and brings about a response of some sort. As with everything else there are varying levels of art. For me, great art must include skill/craftsmanship, originality, mass appeal, timelessness and depth( in the sense that it evokes complex responses)I want to create great art........ for me. Then for my friends and family. I'm not fishing for compliments( though they certainly don't hurt!) I truly don't know whether anyone out there gets anything from these images. Sometimes( as in this first post) I will have a collection of images. Most of the time though, I will only have single images.
